SCNC is the only national, multi-trade and technology competition for students and apprentices in the country. Each year, more than 550 competitors from all regions of Canada come to SCNC to participate in over 40 skilled trade and technology competitions. By providing a forum where Canadians can compete at the national level, SCNC provides hands-on work experience related to skilled trade and technology careers, on top of being visited by thousands of young students!
At SCNC, thousands of students visit the competition floor and discover the exciting and rewarding careers that are available in the skilled trades and technologies through interactive Try-A-Trade® and Technology activities, exhibitor booths, and engagement with industry professionals.

May 27: Opening Ceremony ($50)
Attended by approximately 1,800 spectators, including competitors, their supporters, industry partners, government officials, special guests, and the general public. The Opening Ceremony will officially kick off the Skills Canada National Competition 2026 with an exciting and inspiring show including a parade of the provincial and territorial teams.
May 28 and 29: SCNC 2026
The Skills Canada National Competition (SCNC) is the only national, multi-trade and technology competition for students and apprentices in the country. Each year, more than 500 of Canada’s best in skilled trades and technologies come to SCNC to compete in over 40 skilled trade and technology competitions.
At SCNC, thousands of students visit the competition floor and discover the exciting and rewarding careers that are available in the skilled trades and technologies through over 50 interactive Try-A-Trade® and Technology activities, by visiting exhibitor booths, and engaging with industry professionals.
Tickets are FREE for competition days.
May 30: Closing Ceremony ($50)
Attended by approximately 1,800 spectators, during the Closing Ceremony, gold, silver, and bronze medals will be awarded for all the trade and technology competitions.

We’re excited to offer live-streamed content during the Skills Canada National Competition (SCNC) again this year! We will be LIVE from 9:30AM to 4:30PM EDT from Toronto, Ontario at the only national, multi-trade and technology competition for students and apprentices in the country!

Michael Holmes Jr.

Michael Holmes Jr. is a licensed contractor, passionate woodworker, television host, keynote speaker, brand ambassador and social media influencer. Michael will be joining us for the Opening Ceremony on May 27 and will be onsite May 28 for the first day of competitions.
Sherry Holmes

Sherry Holmes is a contractor, TV personality and champion for women in skilled trades! Sherry will be joining us for the Opening Ceremony on May 27 and will be onsite May 29 for the second day of competitions.

Volunteer at the Skills Canada National Competition
Skills/Compétences Canada is seeking volunteers to support the Skills Canada National Competition in Toronto this May. This national event brings together hundreds of competitors from across Canada and welcomes thousands of visitors who come to explore careers in skilled trades and technologies through hands-on activities and live competitions.
Volunteers play a key role in helping deliver a successful event. General volunteer opportunities include assisting with event setup, competition floor logistics, welcoming school groups, distributing promotional items, supporting public registration, and helping with general event operations.

Strong Smells: These smells may cause discomfort to individuals who are sensitive to strong scents. Be informed that these smells are from materials or chemicals (paints, adhesives/glues, automotive fluids, fragrances, and cooking ingredients). If you have smell sensitivity, you may need to wear a mask when visiting them

Bright Lights: Some competitions may have bright lights or flashing lights, especially those involving welding, bricklaying, landscape gardening, autobody repairs, and electrical work. If you have light sensitivity, you can choose to wear sunglasses to visit these areas.

Loud Noise: Some competitions may generate high noise. If you are sound sensitive, noise cancelation equipment is recommended. For example: Carpentry, cabinet making or the robotics competition areas can be noisy as well as popular Try-a-Trade® and Technology activities.

Busy Spaces: The hallways of the Skills Canada National Competition can be very busy areas. Alongside the rest areas, quiet spaces are offered throughout to take breaks and avoid the crowds.
